Reading the Bible thorugh in One Year. Jan 1, 2003
Reading Genesis 1 - 2

Chapter1

v.1 The created item is responsible to the creator for his actions. As a creation of God, I can only be responsible to my creator, and I am responsible to persue Christlikeness so that I can reproduce Him in my life.

God created, has the meaning of formed out or carved out.

v.2 If the earth was without form and void (chaos), did God fail in creating the earth? Or is it that the process is a continual one, that takes time, even for our God, and it took God the 6 full days to bring order out of what He had created?

v. 3 - 29 As each day happens the order of the earth becomes more and more prominant. Notice also that God has order in each day (there was evening and morning..., God saw that it was good..., etc). Also each item needed to be in exsistance before the other one could. God is truly a God of order.

Another thing to note is that there are 10 "and God's said." Is this any relation to the decaloge that he will give to Moses later?

God created the family here.. he created man (male and female) when he created Adam. And he made us in His image. A combined unit of one, a family.

Chapter 1 ends, all is perfect. Why are we in disharmony now?

Chapter 2

v1 - 3 Could God really rest? Would the mere napping of God put us out of exsistance? What we have here is no further creation.

v 4 - 7 Man was formed, and breath the breath of life into his nostrils. What seperates man from the animals, they were all formed, but in man is breathed the breath of life. I content that no matter what they try to do, they will never prove evolution as God breathed life into Adam, and that is what seperates us from the animals. What ever it was that was breathed in seperates us. We have a body as does any animal, and we have a soul, a part of us that thinks, which I believe the animals do, but what seperates us is what God breathed into us, I believe a spirit. It makes us a triune being like God, and sperates us from the animals.

v 8 - 9 The trees, Life and death. Why did God put them both there?

v 16 - 17 All God had for Adam to follow was one rule. Notice here that Eve has not been created. When she was created, since Adam was male and female, did she have all the knowledge he did as to what God said (she is responsible for the fall), or did Adam have the only knowledge (Adam is responsible for not telling Eve properly)?

v 18 - 20 God gave Adam authority over the earth, and He proves it here. Adam names the animals. We see that God is not the authority over this earth at this point, Adam is, and that sets up for the transfer of authority that is about to take place.

Psalm 1

v. 1 Sin is progressive. You walk, stand and sit in it. By then it is to late. What keeps you from it?

v 2 meditate the word, have it become a part of you so that if you were cut into a million pieces, each part would have that bit of the Word in it.

v 3 So many have problems with the prosperity message. I guess they need to take this verse out. What ever he does prospers. Now, my time is not God's time. And I do not know when the time of completion is. This is not like my batchlor's degree I am working on, when I take certain classes, I get my degree. Only God knows for sure when my classes are over and my prosperity is on the way.

v. 4 The ungodly, those sitting earlier, are uprooted and blown about like chaff, parts of the harvest that have no use and irrate you, only suitable for burning, and so light they blow around with a light wind.

v. 5 Though on this earth they may judge me, in the end, they will not, My God will judge me, I will not be in their judgement and they will not be in my group. We will be permanatly seperated, and they like chaff will only be good for fuel for the fire.

v 6 God knows both of our ways.
